F.A.Q.s

So what’s the big deal about Chardonnay?  Chardonnay is by far the top selling varietal (source: The Nielsen Company, 2009) and is the largest acreage wine grape with almost 95,000 acres in the United States (source: Western Farm Press).  This event is the first of its kind in the U.S. to highlight this popular varietal throughout a full day of events.  Chardonnay experts will come together to share exclusive insight with you about this golden grape.  Learn how to pair foods with Chardonnay, about different winemaking and vineyard management styles, and much  more.

Where Can I Purchase Tickets? Tickets can be purchased by clicking on the “tickets” menu option on this website or by visiting www.shop.smvwines.com.  Be sure to read options carefully as we have 4 ticket options available: Full Day with Morning Session 1 (at Bien Nacido), Full Day with Morning Session 2 (at Cambria Winery), Grand Tasting Only Tickets and Designated Driver Tickets.

What’s on the menu for lunch? Lunch will be provided for all full-day attendees by Bello Forno Catering, Far Western Tavern, and Testa’s Bistro & Catering.  The wine tasting luncheon will be buffet-style and include salads, wood-fired pizzas made at the event, and sandwiches.

I just purchased full day tickets.  Do I have to use the provided transportation?  Yes.  We require full-day attendees to use the provided transportation and encourage Grand Tasting attendees to purchase transportation or bring a designated driver.   Discounted tickets are available for designated drivers.

What should I wear?  We recommend dressing in layers and bringing plenty of sun protection.  While we will do our best to provide shade for you during the day, there will be moments when you will be in the sun.  Please wear sunscreen and feel free to bring a hat.  During the summer the winds can come through during the afternoon requiring a light jacket.  It’s always best to come well prepared.

Where should we stay and eat while visiting?  Please visit www.smvwines.com for a list of hotels and restaurants in the area.  You can also find out more information about hotels by visiting “Where to Stay” on this website.
